Hi, I am Lau and I make Family Pop Art

The name Family Pop Art, blurped out of my big mouth one day I was trying to explain my Art. It stuck.Because yes, I am definitely Pop Art and I used to be urban, but I also live in the country side now and grow tomatoes and love cooking. My rebellion is intact but 4.5 kids later and rather on the whimsical end of the spectrum. Jump in

My paintings weren’t just about food. Or colour. Or pop culture.
They were about the things that stitch themselves into our daily lives — the toast you shared with someone you love, the beat of a song that feels like your childhood, or the movie quote your family still repeats.
They were about joy, comfort, rhythm, rebellion — and the way all those little things add up to something that feels like home wherever home is and that is a double digit number now .

🖼️ What Is Family Pop Art?
Family Pop Art is bold, joyful, pop-inspired art that celebrates the icons of home — both the everyday and the iconic.

It’s Nutella and butter, but also Amy Winehouse  and Bob Marley.
It’s kitchen walls and living rooms — but with a wink and a soundtrack.
It’s cheeky, colourful, unpretentious — and deeply personal.

I pull from pop culture, Mediterranean roots, favourite songs, cult films, and family rituals to create pieces that are nostalgic and rebellious. Pieces that don’t just sit there quietly — they speak.

Sometimes they sing.

🍳 Why I Started Calling It That
It started with food — jars, toast, tins. But it quickly became clear these weren’t just still lifes.
Collectors told me:

“This feels like home.”
“That’s my mum’s kitchen.”
“That’s our Sunday morning playlist in a painting.”

They saw themselves in the work — not just in the objects, but in the energy.
These pieces weren’t just about aesthetics. They were about memory. Emotion. Shared language. And that’s when I realised:

This art isn’t just for families.
It’s from family.
The chosen family, the messy family, the loud one, the joyful one — the one that’s built from favourite songs, leftover pasta, old sneakers, and movie quotes.

🎶 What’s Coming Next
The idea of family, identity, and memory is expanding in my next works too.
More music. More Mediterranean colours. More iconic shoes and cultural references — because the things we wear, watch, and listen to are just as much a part of us as what we eat.

Think:
👟 A shoe that capture years of summer holidays.
🎬 A movie you might use as a comfort blanket .
🎶 A lyric that gets passed down like a recipe.

I’m creating art that reflects not just who you live with, but who you are — and how you came to be.

🫶 Why It Resonates
Because family isn’t just bloodlines.
It’s what comforts you. What shaped you. What makes you feel seen.
Whether it’s a tin of beans or a pair of vintage trainers — if it’s part of your story, it deserves a place on your wall.

🎁 Why It Belongs In Your Home
Your home isn’t a showroom. It’s a mixtape.
It should look like you, feel like you, sound like you.

Family Pop Art turns the objects and icons of your life into vibrant, joyful pieces that say:
“You belong here. And your story matters.”

If you’ve ever smiled at toast, danced in your kitchen, cried at a song, or quoted a movie over dinner…
You’re already part of the family.
